At approximately 1am on August 20, 2013, David Amaya (pictured above) was shot and killed while he sat in his company truck. Amaya was waiting to pick up his girlfriend from work the morning that he was killed. He was parked in a lot across the street from a small bar in a strip center in West Mount Houston Road. The investigation revealed that while Amaya was waiting in the car, a car pulled up behind his truck. One male stepped out from the driver?s side, approached Amaya at his window and fired multiple times striking the victim in the head, killing him. The unknown suspect returned to his car and pulled away heading west on West Mound Houston Road. The driver then turned south onto Sunnywood. The suspect is described as a light skinned, white or Hispanic male in his 20?s. The murder does not appear to be the result of a robbery. The motive is unknown.
