- Crime Stoppers will NEVER ask you for your name, phone number, address, or any other information that could identify you.
- We do not record phone calls or have caller id. No one will know you called us unless you tell them.
- Once you give us your tip, you will be given a code number. This is the only way Crime Stoppers can identify you.
- You need to remember this number and provide it when you call back to check the status of your tip.
- CRIME STOPPERS CANNOT CALL YOU with the status because we don’t ask for your phone number.
- When you call back with your code number we will let you know if your tip helped law enforcement arrest or charge a felony suspect/fugitive. If it did, we will give you instructions to go to a specific bank on a certain date to pick up your cash reward. You will not be asked to show any id and the money you get does not have to be reported to anyone.
- Crime Stoppers may pay cash rewards of up to $5,000 on serious crime in the Greater Houston Area.
- The only requirement is you must report your tip directly to the Crime Stoppers Tip Line.

Crime Stoppers may pay a cash reward of up to $5,000 on all felony crimes that happen in the Greater Houston/Harris County area. Here are things you should know about our Tip Line:

Crime Stoppers offers cash rewards in missing persons cases when an investigator has determined that foul play is involved and/or in cases where a minor (16 or younger) has run away with a person that is 18 or older. A common example of the latter is a minor being lured away from a parent or legal guardian for sex trafficking
During a custody exchange on October 18, 2025, a suspect endangered three children by driving recklessly while they were unsecured and later struck the complainant with a vehicle. A tip provided the information needed to arrest the suspect.
Police responded after a resident shot down a legally operated drone with a shotgun, claiming he believed he was being spied on. A witness confirmed the incident, and a tip led to the suspect’s arrest. Investigators also determined the suspect was legally prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior felony convictions.
A tip led deputies to a residence where two dogs were found living in severe neglect, surrounded by feces accumulated over months. The animals were seized under a warrant, and citations were issued.
A tip led investigators to a chop shop operation where ten stolen vehicles were recovered, including pickup trucks and high-value vehicles. The location was being used to dismantle vehicles for parts, ending a major criminal operation.
Following a fatal shooting involving a juvenile victim, surveillance footage and viral video generated critical leads. A tip ultimately resulted in the suspect’s arrest.
An internal audit revealed more than 90 unauthorized transactions over six months, totaling $46,584 in losses. Surveillance video captured the suspect conducting the transactions. A tip later identified the suspect, leading to her arrest.
Between August 2024 and March 2025, a suspect committed multiple violent assaults against two victims. The attacks involved severe physical violence, threats to kill, and forced relocation of one victim and her children. A tip submitted through the Crime Stoppers mobile app led to the suspect’s arrest, ending the pattern of abuse.
On December 18, 2024, a suspect assaulted a store clerk after refusing to return a stolen one-dollar bill. The incident was captured on surveillance video and shared publicly. A tip later led to the suspect’s arrest.
On June 27, 2025, a domestic argument escalated when the suspect retrieved a knife and stabbed the victim in the forehead with such force that the blade broke. A tip later led to the suspect’s arrest.
On August 22, 2025, officers recovered a handgun equipped with an auto-sear device, converting it into a fully automatic weapon. A tip helped resolve the case and remove the illegal firearm from the community.
