Marlin JordanCrime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division need the public's assistance identifying the suspect responsible for a Capital Murder.
On Sunday, June 23, 2019, at approximately 5:15 a.m., Marlin Jordan and Maya Brashier were both shot and robbed in the 7500 block of Hillmont Street in Houston, Texas. According to Maya Brashier, she and her boyfriend (Marlin Jordan) were returning home from work and parked their vehicle in the 7500 block on Hillmont Street. After they exited the vehicle, they were approached by a black male suspect wearing a white muscle shirt and shorts. The suspect pointed a firearm at them and demanded their money and wallets. The suspect then turned his attention to Maya Brashier. Marlin Jordan stepped in the way as she hid behind their truck. At some point during the robbery, Marlin Jordan shielded Maya Brashier as she laid on the ground behind their vehicle. The suspect stood over the victims and shot Marlin Jordan. The suspect then shot Maya Brashier and took her purse. After shooting both victims, the suspect fled the scene on foot towards Hollister Street (around 5:23 a.m.). Both victims were transported to a local hospital, where Marlin Jordan died from a gunshot wound. Surveillance video captured the suspect running southbound into an apartment complex near Langfield Road and Hillmont Street (around 5:29 a.m.).
The suspect is believed to be a black male, 40 to 49 years old, 5’8” – 5’10”, average build, 160 – 190 lbs., dark complexion, with bald or low cut hair. The suspect was wearing a white muscle shirt gray shorts (below the knee), and black shoes. Investigators believe the suspect frequents the area of HIllmont Street and Langfield Road.
The families of both victims are requesting help from the community in finding the suspect responsible for the Capital Murder and Aggravated Robbery of the victims.
