On Saturday April 25th, 2009 Troy Fontenot went out with some friends to celebrate one of their birthdays. Around 2:30 on the morning of the 26th, Mr. Fontenot was leaving a club located in the 8300 block of Chateau Forest near W. Little York. He volunteered to walk a woman to her car while his friends were talking with other people outside the club. As he and the woman arrived at her car, a tan colored car, possibly a Ford Taurus pulled up. Two black males got out of the car and approached them. One of the men had a gun and demanded money and Mr. Fontenot?s property. Mr. Fontenot turned to run from them and as he was running the suspect shot him. Mr. Fontenot died in a parking lot at the corner of Chateau Forest and W. Little York. Witnesses were able to give enough information to provide a composite sketch of the shooter.
