On Sunday, March 13, 2011 at approximately 6:30 am, the victim Nestor Argueta was involved in a minor accident at the corner of West S.H. 249 at Veterans Memorial where he had struck a fixed object. A few minutes later, Mr. Argueta left the scene walking southbound across S.H. 249 at which time he was struck by an unknown dark colored Dodge Charger that was heading east bound on S.H. 249. After the impact the unknown driver of the Dodge Charger briefly slowed down as if he were going to stop and then fled the scene eastbound on S.H. 249 towards the north freeway. The driver failed to stop and check the welfare of the victim Nestor as he lay in the roadway. Nestor received serious injuries from the accident and was on life support at the hospital where he later died. There was no evidence or witness at the scene that could provide a suspect description or a plate number on the Dodge Charger.
