Jerald Wayne SkainesCrime Stoppers and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division need the public’s assistance identifying the suspect(s) responsible for a Hit-and-Run – Failure to Stop and Render Aid – Fatality.
On or about the late evening of Friday, May 23, 2026, or the early morning hours of Saturday, May 24, 2026, Jerald Wayne Skaines was walking westbound in the 29000 block of Old Washington Road in northwest Harris County when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.
Rather than stopping to help or contacting emergency personnel, the driver fled the scene, leaving Mr. Skaines critically injured. Tragically, he succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the collision.
More than anything, Mr. Skaines' family is searching for answers and is asking the community to come forward with any information that could help identify the driver responsible.
Even the smallest detail could make a difference. If you witnessed the collision, were traveling through the area around that time, or have information about a vehicle that may have been involved, Crime Stoppers wants to hear from you.
