On July 4, 2013, Maldonado was found dead in his residence at approximately 2:00 AM. The victim was found to have a single gunshot wound to the head. Investigators believe that robbery was the motive in the crime. After an extensive investigation, no suspects have been identified or charged in Maldonado?s murder.
