On December 23, 2006, Steven and his friends were standing in the parking lot of a nightclub located on the 7700 block of Lyons Avenue in Houston, Texas. At approximately 2:15 am, a small altercation broke out amongst several people in the parking lot. The altercation soon escalated to a fight in which three people were stabbed, including Steven. Steven Castro was pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were transported to an area hospital.
