On February 1, 2006 police were called to investigate the fatal shooting of a man in the 9600 block of Pagewood. The victim, Mark Barzilla, was sitting inside his truck with a female friend when the suspect, described only as a black male, approached the driver's side of the truck. According to the witness, the suspect said something to the victim and then shot him one time in the head. Mr. Barzilla was able to drive away, but then lost control of his vehicle, striking a light pole a short distance away. The motive for this shooting is unknown at this time.
