On December 21, 2014, Mr. Joseph Mathis, a homeless male, was shot two times in his back. Mr. Mathis was standing in the parking lot of Fuel Depot located at 5320 East Freeway in Houston, Texas with his back towards the service road. An unknown suspect approached Mr. Mathis from behind, fired two shots into his back and fled on foot. Concerned citizens called 911 and Mr. Mathis was transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The suspect is described a black male.
