On Saturday, January 30, 2016, Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to an Auto-pedestrian Crash in the 6100 block of Thompson Road. During the investigation it was determined that a male later identified as, George Nichols (DOB: 02/08/1968), was walking in the number 2 southbound lane of the roadway in the 6100 block of Thompson Road. Traveling southbound in the number 2 lane in the 6100 block of Thompson Road was a blue or green smaller SUV. The SUV was observed by witnesses striking Nichols as he walked in the roadway. After the crash the SUV fled the scene and was last observed traveling eastbound on Interstate 10. The identity of the driver is unknown.
