On Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at approximately 6:45 pm, Margaret Smallwood was walking on the 7100 block of S. Gessner in Houston, TX. Smallwood was attempting to cross the street when she was struck by an unknown suspect driving a gold Cheverolet Silverado. At the time of the accident, Smallwood was in the middle of the block crossing from the west side to the east side of the street. The suspect driving the vehicle failed to stop and render aide to the victim. Smallwood was transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
