On Saturday, October 25, 2008 at around 9:10 in the morning, the two suspects arrived at the EZ Loan store where Ms. Ashford was working. They arrived in a red or maroon Chevrolet step-side pickup truck with chrome bedrails on both sides and a regular-sized cab. One suspect got out of the truck and entered the EZ Loan store. He attempted to rob the store and for unknown reasons he shot Ms. Ashford before fleeing the scene in the pick up truck driven by the other suspect.
