On Thursday, December 11, 2014, Houston Police officers responded to a call in the 5900 block of Scott Street, in Houston, Texas. Upon arrival, officers were advised that Mr. Jose Angel Barrios-Becerra was shot multiple times near a bus stop located on the corner of Scott Street and Griggs Road. Mr. Barrios-Becerra stumbled to a nearby strip center where he collapsed. By-standers called 911 and Mr. Barrios-Becerra was transported to Ben Taub Hospital where he later died. A thorough investigation revealed that prior to his murder; Mr. Barrios-Becerra was on his way home from work after making a stop to cash his check.
