On Monday, March 09, 2015, at approximately 06:35am, the victim was walking northbound in the northbound lane, in the 1100 block of Freeport. The victim was observed walking in between construction barrels while talking on his cell phone. A white Ford F-150 extended cab pick-up was traveling northbound on Freeport at a high rate of speed and struck the victim and a construction barrel. The Ford pick-up fled without rendering aid to the victim. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene and was found with no signs of life. Witnesses were unable to obtain a license plate to the Ford pick-up. It is believed that the Ford pick-up sustained damage to the front right, due to broken headlight lens and other automotive parts found at the scene. The victim did not have any identification on his person at the time of the crash. This incident is being investigated by the Traffic Enforcement Division of the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
