On July 25, 2014 at approximately 11:45pm, Rodney Young (pictured below) was on his motorized wheelchair when he was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle. The hit and run accident happened in the south bound lane in the 13,500 block of Homestead. The unknown driver hit Young throwing him off his motorized wheelchair and into the street. The driver did not stop. Two other vehicles then struck Young in the roadway, but turned around and came back to try and help. Rodney Young died at the scene.
