On the early evening of Monday, August 27, 2007 DeMorris Grant answered the front door of his apartment located on the 1600 block of Enclave Pkwy, and was confronted by an armed suspect. The suspect shot Grant in the chest. In an attempt to flee, Grant leaped from his second story balcony, and ran across the apartment complex?s parking lot to a neighbor?s. Emergency responders transported Grant to Memorial Southwest hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.
