On December 14, 2012 police were called to a home invasion and murder in the 300 block of North Vista. According to police, three or four unidentified black males forced their way into an apartment around 10 p.m. James Paul Dillon, who was sleeping on the couch when the robbers entered the home, woke up and was shot. Four other residents were present during the robbery, including two young children. The suspects held the residents at gunpoint and demanded money. Dillon died at the scene, but no one else was injured. The suspects fled with the victim?s property.
