On Thursday, February 2, 2012, at approximately 6:30 pm, Deputies responded to a major crash in the 400 block of South Mason Road in west Harris County. 78 year old Irene Bourgeois was crossing the road near the 400 block of South Mason Road from east to west. As Bourgeois entered into the outside southbound lane of South Mason Road, she was struck by a dark colored truck, possibly a green Ford F-150. After striking the victim, the driver of the vehicle failed to stop and render aid, and fled the scene heading southbound on South Mason. Bourgeois was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. A witness reported the suspect?s vehicle had ?old? damage to the rear of the vehicle and had a ?BROWNING? sticker on the back window.
