On Sunday, September 7, 2014, at approximately 8:17 p.m., Otis Verdine, a 40 year old male, was struck and killed while walking eastbound in the roadway at the 9800 block of Clinton Drive. An unknown suspect driving a pick-up truck, also traveling eastbound in the 9800 block of Clinton Drive, struck Mr. Verdine and failed to stop and render aid. The pick-up truck is possibly a 1994 -1995 Chevy Silverado with a camper. The suspect fled in an unknown direction of travel. As Mr. Verdine laid in the roadway injured, he was struck again by another unknown driver. The second suspect also fled the scene and failed to stop and render aid. Mr. Verdine was transported to an area hospital where it was deteremined that he suffered a broken pelvis and bleeding from the brain. Mr. Verdine was pronounced dead the next morning at 7:02 a.m. due to injuries sustained the night before and the irresponsible actions of these two unknown suspects. We are pleading for the public's assistance in obtaining any information about the two unknown suspects.
