N/ACrime Stoppers and Houston Police Department Homicide Investigators are seeking the public?s assistance for information on a murder that occurred in the early morning hours of July 19, 2008 at 6200 Marinette. On July 18th, 2008 the 23 year old victim, Javier Ramirez Cruz, met his brother at a night club located near the Southwest Freeway and Gessner. They left the club at closing time in the early morning hours of July 19th, when they got to their cars, the victim?s brother had a flat tire. After filling the tire with air, the brothers went home to their apartment in the 6200 block of Marinette. The brother opened the gate from his car and proceeded through, while Javier Cruz waited for the security guard to open the gate and let him in. Before the guard could exit the guard shack, a newer model small gray four door car pulled up. A Hispanic male exited the car with a shotgun and walked up to the driver?s side door of Javier?s car. The male fired the shotgun one time at Javier. The suspect ran back and got into the passenger side of the gray car without saying a word. The car left the scene traveling northbound on Marinette. The security guard stated there were not any altercations at the apartment complex prior to the shooting. Javier?s brother and employees from the club were interviewed and denied that any fights or arguments took place at the club. The shooter is described as an 18 to 25 year old Hispanic male 5?5? to 5?7? tall and weighing about 150 pounds. Attached is a composite sketch of the shooter.
