Crime Stoppers and Homicide Investigators with the Houston Police Department are seeking the public?s assistance with any information on the July 8, 2007 murder of 35 year old Javier Ortiz, Jr. Around 3:00 in the morning on Sunday July 8, 2007, an HPD officer saw a vehicle engulfed in flames in a parking lot located at 10660 Hammerly. He immediately called the Houston Fire Department. Once the fire was out, Mr. Ortiz?s severely burned body was discovered in the driver?s seat of the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
