On Wednesday 02/26/2014 at approximately 11:20pm a 28-year old motorist stopped his car on the McCarty Road exit ramp from the East Freeway after experiencing what appeared to be mechanical problems with the vehicle. The 28-year old male apparently attempted to cross the East Freeway on foot at the McCarty Road exit when he was struck by one or more vehicles on the freeway. A witness stopped at the scene after seeing the 28-year old male's vehicle parked on the exit ramp. The witness reported seeing a dark-colored pick-up truck hit the 28-year old male as he lay on the freeway. The person whom was driving the pick-up truck did not stop and render aid to the 28-year old male pedestrian. Houston Fire Department emergency medical personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the 28-year old male pedestrian deceased. No license plate number was obtained for the vehicle that hit the 28-year old male pedesrian as he lay on the freeway. There is no description of the driver.
