STUDENT DISCUSSION: Sydney Zuiker, Community Education Specialist, will cover potential and actual online threats, cyberbullying, and digital reputation.     Become a be nice.® Facilitator be nice.® presentations are available for students ages Pre-K - 12th grade. Due to the high demand of these presentations and our limited Safe School staff, we are seeking volunteers and school staff to help present to younger Elementary school groups (Pre-K – 5th grade). Elementary presentations are 30 minutes long. The facilitator will read an illustrated book to explain the four-part action plan and lead the group in a set of activities that further demonstrates how students can notice, invite, challenge and empower their peers. If you enjoy working with children and would like to become a volunteer Facilitator or would like to present to your students, we ask that you attend a training at our Crime Stoppers of Houston headquarters located in the heart of Midtown. Training for Mental Health Professionals and Police Officers* Additionally, training is available for mental health professionals and police officers who would like to present to middle and high school students. Join us on Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Dave Ward Building, Crime Stoppers of Houston Building. We will be celebrating Dave Ward's Houston’s 80th birthday 🎂 as he launches his memoir, GOOD EVENING FRIENDS, full of Houston history and personal stories. Books will be available for purchase for the very first time and a % of proceeds from the event's sales will be donated to Crime Stoppers of Houston.

    Overview : SPEAKER: Mark Wynn Twenty-one year member of the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department, Mark Wynn served as Lieutenant to the Domestic Violence Division and was a member of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team for 15 years. He was the recipient of 121 commendations and 51 awards and certificates, including the 1995 National Improvement of Justice Award and the 1998 Nashvillian of the Year Award. Mark is considered an expert on the issue of family violence in state and federal court and has spoken at the White House on strategies to prevent domestic violence in the country.
