SSI: Child Abuse New

In Texas, educators are classified as mandatory reporters for disclosed or suspected child abuse, neglect, or trafficking. Every child deserves to feel safe, so it's important to recognize warning signs and to encourage students to speak up if they feel uncomfortable or unsafe in any situation.

Report Child Abuse

  • If you are in immediate danger, Call 911!
  • Texas law requires that any person suspecting that a child has been abused or neglected must immediately make a report to The Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) at 1-800-252-5400
