Crime Stoppers of Houston is Houston’s only public safety and crime prevention non-profit agency working to solve every type of felony crime. Beyond solving crime, Crime Stoppers is dedicated to PREVENTING CRIME and SOLVING community problems through its Safe Community and Safe School Programs, two programs that unite agencies and yield direct results.
Crime Stoppers will soon have its very first home and open the first Crime Stoppers headquarters in the nation, "The Dave Ward Building: Crime Stoppers of Houston". Ultimately, it was Dave Ward who put Crime Stoppers of Houston in the national and international spotlight and to this day, we call him “The Voice of Crime Stoppers”.
Thanks to the generosity of donors our new building will be built on our property at 3001 Main Street, known as Houston's First Public Safety and Crime Prevention Block, a mission-driven monument to crime prevention and a highly efficient, secure hub for centralized operations, staff, volunteers, victims, law enforcement and media teams.
Keeping in line with our 35 year history, we worked hard to give every piece of this new facility meaning, purpose and a vision for the future. The first and second floors of this 30,000 square foot new facility will contain a high-profile Community Center where the community and other nonprofit organizations will convene to discuss and plan an array of crime prevention topics and strategies, a Victims’ Family Services Room where victims can engage the media in the safety of our offices, a state-of-the-art Press Conference Room, a rotating Art Exhibit on Texas Law and Justice, and program offices that are projected to handle agency growth. Additionally, the third floor of this facility will have an expanded Law Enforcement Detail Office; this space houses the famed Crime Stoppers Tip Line, 713-222-TIPS and the 16-plus officers assigned to staff it. On our city block will also be the first ever Harris County Sheriff’s Office Memorial Garden, a place to pay tribute to those heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in their service to our great community.
