The Crime Stoppers Annual Awards Luncheon honors individuals and organizations who have given exemplary service to make Houston a safer place to live, work, learn, and play.

Dear Friends of Crime Stoppers,

 

Since inception in 1980, Crime Stoppers' mission has been to work in partnership with citizens, law enforcement and the criminal justice system to reduce and prevent crime in the Greater Houston area.

At the Houston's Heroes Awards Luncheon, Crime Stoppers celebrates those who go above and beyond keeping our community safe.

You are invited to submit qualified nominees to receive an award from Crime Stoppers created to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to safety and crime prevention. Please submit your nominations for each of the awards by mail or email according to the following guidelines. In making your nominations, please consider the following:

 

 

THE JOHNNY KLEVENHAGEN CRIME STOPPERS AWARD

Eligible candidates are persons working in the criminal justice system that have made a significant contribution to fighting crime.

Past recipients: Sgt. Doug Osterberg, the HCSO Robbery Division, the GCVOTF, the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force, KPRC's Wheel of Justice, Judge Marc Carter, Officer Ann Carrizales, the Houston Human Trafficking Task Force, Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson, Lt. Wende Wakeman, and Constable Alan Rosen.

THE LEON GOLDSTEIN CRIME STOPPERS AWARD

Any citizen who has made a significant contribution to fighting crime is eligible for this award.

Past recipients: Johnny Holmes, Dave Ward, Jack Loftis, Larry Lipton, Ted Wilson, Comcast, Kristi Schiller, Dr. Steven B. Schnee, Lee Vela, Michelle Heinz, and Council Member Brenda Stardig.

THE LEIV PLATOU CRIME STOPPERS AWARD

Any citizen who has made a significant contribution to public safety as a volunteer is eligible for this award.

Past recipients: Annette Baldwin, Stan Crane, Andrea Schmauss, Larry Hatfield, Gerald Magee and Andy Kahn, Tena Lundquist Faust and Tama Lundquist, Eddee Hestand, Laura S. Ward, and Steve Mach.

THE CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP CRIME STOPPERS AWARD

Any corporation that has shown a significant interest in keeping our community safe.

Past recipients: Aramco Services Company, CenterPoint Energy, Wells Fargo, Mission Constructors, and Merriman Holt Powell Architects.

THE SAFE SCHOOL CRIME STOPPERS AWARD  

Any individual or group that has made a significant contribution towards keeping our schools safe and enhancing education.

Past Recipients: Gena and Chuck Norris/KICKSTART KIDS, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, and Constance White/Spindletop Charities.

The awards will be presented to our honorees at our Houston's Heroes Luncheon on May 3, 2018 at the Royal Sonesta Hotel.
