Self-Harm by a High School Student
On February 27, 2018, a tipster sent a message to the Crime Stoppers Mobile App providing information on a student who cut her herself and believed she was in danger of causing additional harm to herself. The tipster identified where the female cut herself and that she is a 9th grader at Deer Park High School. The Crime Stoppers investigator contacted the Assistant Principle and advised a student may be harming herself by cutting and suggested she and the school nurse make contact with the student. The Assistant Principle spoke to the student and verified that she had indeed cut herself on the arms. This occurred due to a break up with her boyfriend. The Assistant Principle reached out to the mother and was able to provide her with some literature and resources for counseling.
