#SafetyIsTheGoal Back-to-School Poster Contest
Where creativity meets the mission of building safer, more supportive elementary school communities.
The #SafetyIsTheGoal Back-to-School Poster Contest invites young artists and their schools to put creativity into action by exploring what it means to stay aware, make safe choices, and look out for one another. Through art, students are encouraged to think about trusted adults, safe surroundings, and the importance of working together to keep their school community strong.
A part of the Million for Million Campaign, a statewide initiative dedicated to reaching millions of students with critical safety and prevention education. Each poster contributes to a larger goal — empowering students with the awareness and confidence they need to stay safe.
This contest is about more than artistic expression — it’s a meaningful opportunity to reinforce safety, responsibility, and confidence in age-appropriate ways that resonate across an entire campus.
Three Title I elementary schools across Texas will be selected to receive school supply funding for the 2026–2027 school year, supporting students and teachers with resources that make a real, campus-wide impact.
Together, let’s help students build safer habits, stronger awareness, and a shared commitment to looking out for one another — because when everyone plays their part, #SafetyIsTheGoal.
2025 Theme: Safety Is the Goal!
Posters should creatively reflect one or more of the following safety concepts:
• Situational awareness — paying attention to what’s happening around you
• Safe vs. unsafe environments — knowing which spaces feel secure
• Trusted adults — knowing who to ask for help and how to speak up
• Looking out for others — teamwork, responsibility, and care
