Line Skipper and Fatal Hit and Run
Crime Stoppers received a tip via the mobile app on August 30, 2018 providing information about a suspect, “Ali” that was responsible for a 2015 fatal hit and run. On December 27,2015 the victim was standing in line to place an order at a gas stations fast food restaurant. Ali skipped the line in front of the victim to place his own order. The clerk refused to take his order so Ali left the restaurant, went to the gas station, made a purchase and returned to his vehicle in the parking lot. Meanwhile, the victim placed and received his order then returned to his vehicle and drove away. The suspect followed the victim for more than five (5) miles before intentionally crashing into his vehicle several times along the way. Ali eventually hit the victim’s vehicle hard enough that caused it to roll over several times before striking a tree. Ali’s vehicle also rolled over, but he managed to flee the scene on foot without rendering aid to the victim. The victim was transported by Life Flight to Houston Herman Memorial Hospital where he was found to have a broken neck, spine, and collar bone. The complainant later died as a result of his injuries. Ali was located and arrested as a result of the information provided by the tipster.
