Animal Cruelty Seminar

February 13 @ 6:30 am - 8:00 pm

Overview :

During this free seminar, you will have the opportunity to learn about the different types of cruelty, abuse and neglect; how to recognize it, what to do if you suspect cruelty, the laws that are in place to protect the animals in our community, and upcoming legislative efforts.

Featuring:
– Harris County Precinct 5 Animal Crimes Unit Sergeant Charles Jantzen
– Harris County Assistant District Attorney, Animal Cruelty Section Chief Jessica Milligan
– Members of the Rescue Community

The event will also provide an overview of the Harris County Animal Cruelty Taskforce which was launched a year ago to streamline the process of where and how animal cruelty can be reported by providing a one-stop centralized way to report without having to call around to find who should take the report of abuse.

To date, the Taskforce has received 3,800+ reports resulting in 200 criminal charges.

RSVP to phollek@crime-stoppers.org

This seminar is generously funded by support from Houston PetSet.
