Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division need the public's assistance identifying the suspect responsible for a Capital Murder.

On Wednesday, February 28, 2018, the victim was shot to death in the 300 block of Cavalcade Street in Houston, Texas. During this incident, the 64 year old victim, Gerardo Lopez, was walking home from a convenience store when he was approached by an unknown black male suspect. The suspect shot Mr. Lopez several times. The victim was found by his neighbors with his pockets turned inside out and his belongings missing. Separately, but close in time to the victim being found, a citizen heard the gunshots and chased after the suspect. The suspect then turned the gun on the citizen and attempted to rob him as well. The suspect pulled the trigger, but fortunately the gun did not discharge. The suspect then fled on foot in an unknown direction of travel.

Suspect: Black male, in his early 20’s, 6’02”, short dread locks or twists with dark beads, wearing a black hoodie and dark pants.
