HARRIS COUNTY SHERIFF ADRIAN GARCIA ALLOCATES $500,000 OF SEIZED FUNDS TO CRIME STOPPERS

On December 10, 2009, Crime Stoppers of Houston and Harris County Sheriff Adrian hosted a press conference to announce an agreement between the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers of Houston for the allocation of seized funds, $500,000, to promote law enforcement purposes in Harris County.
Crime Stoppers of Houston is the most productive Crime Stoppers in Texas, if not the world, and this allocation will help further their mission to solve and prevent crime in the Greater Houston Area. Through October of this year, tips to Crime Stoppers helped arrest 673 felons in our area, including 9 Capital Murderers. These arrests have already surpassed last year’s total due in part to Sheriff Garcia’s doubling the number of Deputies assigned to the Crime Stoppers Law Enforcement Detail. The partnership between Crime Stoppers and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office is instrumental in keeping our community safe.
Houston City Council Member Ed Gonzales, Crime Stoppers Board Members and friends and supporters of Crime Stoppers also attended the press conference.
